Dear Isaac,

You are correct. Duxbury is the Cadillac in braille translation software
and the BrailleNote has a scaled-down version of Duxbury in it.

I have often said if people have a PC and they want to read their .brf
documents on their PC, they can copy the files from the BrailleNote to the
PC and read them with Duxbury.

They can also spiff up any braille documents they plan to emboss for other
blind people to read.

A person can also transfer files brailled using their PC and DBT to the BN.

But, I believe people going through the transcriber's course are not allowed
to use Duxbury or any other translation software. I don't know whether or
not people can email their lessons--I had to use snail mail, and what a
mess!

Duxbury supports foreign languages and I think that's why PDI changed from
Monty to Duxbury.

The full-fledged version supports Nemeth code and the British math code, but
the BN doesn't. DBT is wonderful and I think PDI was wise when they changed
to it.
