If I remember right, it's because the dot 6 in computer Braille is for the
comma punctuation mark. That's a bit of carry over knowledge from another
note taker in the past.

While researching computers, I read the BN manuals concerning the Braille

Braille, you must do something like a chord U before each letter you want
capitalized and, I think, two chord U's for a string of capitalized
letters.
Why? Whatever happened to using the dot 6 on the machine? I'm puzzled.
