Hi mary-Ellen. As a frequent United Flyer I can tell you that they tend not to have power in economy. Yes, if it's just an adaptor at the end of the plug, any computer store will have it, however I would think that on a domestic flight, no special power connector would be needed. My advice would be to first confirm what class you're flying, then check with the airline regarding the kind of plane you'll be flying in, whether they have power, and if so, what the requirements are.
