I'm not entirely sure about the exact difference between FAT and FAT32. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable, such as Sabahattin Gucukoglu for instance, could give you a good answer. When you format a CF card with Win XP, your focus is placed on the "start" button. If you tab a few times, not sure how many, you will come to a combo box. The default option is FAT32, arrow down to FAT, the only other option in the combo box. Then tab to the start button and press enter or space. You should be good to go. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need more information.

Windows XP automatically uses fat32. What is the difference between fat and fat32? Terri Pannett, Amateur Radio call sign KF6CA.
