Penny, when it asks if you want to format, always say no. I did reformat a flash card using my card reader and the PC--once--and you have to be careful which kind of formatting you use, as there are two choices. I suppose in a sense it does seem odd that the BrailleNote would offer to do something for you that is totally destructive. The proper term ought to be "erase"--as in, "do you want to erase this drive?" We'd all know to shout "NO" then.
