Thanks Riana. Prior to 5.1--mine came initially with 5.0--inserting or
removing the card with the unit turned off produced the messages I alluded
to in my previous note. I did not realise this was changed when 5.1 came
along. I should learn to pay attention a bit better, although the manual
DID NOT SPECIFY anywhere what the new changes were.
For the time being, I will leave the CompactFlash Card in the BrailleNote; I
have not experienced any significant degradation or loss of data with the
CompactFlash Card left in the BrailleNote or removed when the unit is turned
off. I have survived a RESET with the card left in its slot; but I will
keep a good watch on all eventual troubles looming somewhere in the
boondoggles, <smile>!!
