Well the answer to your first question is that my only other scanner was an hp 5200 which I adored but could not use with my current computer as it was a scuzzy pardon the spelling scanner and since I was spending the money and was fascinated with the ScannAr I decided to buywhat I really wanted. Now I have never seen any of these other machines so have no clue what they do.

Hi, all. Mary Ellen, some questions: Did you ever have another stand-alone
reading machine, like Portset or VERA? If so, can you compare those with
ScanAr? Can other stand-alones ask if you want to save to the BN, or other device, if you plug in such a device? How is the ScanaR's accuracy? I have
heard that generically, accuracy of scanners is at about 90 plus percent
today. Thanks. Beth
