Well the answer to your first question is that my only other scanner was an
hp 5200 which I adored but could not use with my current computer as it was
a scuzzy pardon the spelling scanner and since I was spending the money and
was fascinated with the ScannAr I decided to buywhat I really wanted.
Now I have never seen any of these other machines so have no clue what they
do.
