Hi folks!
Well I thought my router went out on me but alas the fone jack came out of
the connector socket so happily no service calls.
Anyway I used the original versa braille with the cassette tapes. You could
onlyuse maxell and tdk extremely high quality milar tapes in those things
and they were open enoughthat dog hair used to get inside of them.
They were amazing for their timehowever quite heavy and bulkey and did not
have nearly the flexability of the machines of today.
I only got to see the later models which had the hard drives in them but I
am certainly glad those days were over. As a matter of fact the versa
Braille was a contributing cause for me to quit my job at the Social
Security administration. They were trying to document how I couldn't do my
job because I depended too much on sighted help. Anyway I kept telling them
to spend 20 bucks for a cable to interface the versa braille with their
computer system and they refused so I told them since they were making it
impossible for me to do my job they could find another boy to whip and left.
Of course they got extremely nasty about the whole matter and the manager of
the office didn't even show up for work the day I left to say good-bye.
So I have not happy memmories of the versa braille.
