The subject explains it all, really... I've found a way of copying files directly from 1 BN to another BN. Of course, these units do not have a be BNs, they could be PKs, VNs, but they have to be in the BrailleNote family. Here's how you copy the files: Note that BN1 is the BrailleNote with the file on it and BN2 is the BrailleNote you are copying the file two: 1. Connect a serial cable between BN1 and BN2. 2. On BN1, go to Main Menu, File Manager, Translation, Export document. 3. Respond to all of the prompts as requested until you get to the Export to which Device prompt. 4. Press S for Serial. 5. Respond to all prompts as requested until "Host Ready to Receive?" is displayed. 6. On BN2, go to Main Menu, File Manager, Translation, Import file. 7. Respond to all prompts as requested until "Import from which device" is displayed. 8. Press S for Serial. 9. Respond to all prompts as requested until "Host ready to transmit" is displayed. 10. Press ENTER on BOTH BN's at the same time. After a few seconds you should here: BN1: "1 file exported" BN2: "1 file imported" I posted this here because in an Infotech interview with Jonathan he said that there wasn't a way to copy files from one device to another without using "Backup or Restore" which copies the whole specified drive/folder. HTH! Matthew
