In fact, you can get a Dell computer with 512 megs of ram, 2.8 ghz processor, 80 gig hard drive, and 512 megabytes of ram for around $600. This doesn't include a monitor. Add OCR software for about $1000, and you're about 1400 dollars to the good. Why anyone would purchase any stand-alone reading machine is difficult for me to comprehend, although for some people it seems to be the way they want to go.

And the blurb says absolutely nothing about what ocr engine or version of same is used. If I were considering this, I'd have a ton of questions for the sales person before spending 3K dollars on it, especially considering that you can get a good pc, scanner and adaptive ocr software with tons of features, including the ability to send files to the BN/VN for several hundred dollars less than what this would cost.
