Here is a question I would like to pose to this list.
Have any of you actually encountered any problems when flying with the
Braillenote?
Have any of you been advised that you couldn't take the device on a
plane?
Because, I sincerely doubt that any of you have run into any serious
issues because of the Braillenote.
I have flown many times since 911 and there has never been an issue.
As Jonathan stated, if they want to scan it, they will, if the don't
they won't. I have flown with laptops as well, sometimes I have been
made to boot the machine so that the airport screener would know that it
was in fact a laptop and not a bomb with an LCD display.
However I know of no blind individual who has ever encountered a major
problem when flying with a Braillenote.

Subject: [Braillenote] Flying With BN:

Dear List:

I have a friend who is a screener at Logan Airport, in Boston, who I
asked
about flying with BN, & how the screening process is supposed to work.
He
then has forwarded me information about this, which I will be happy to
send
to anyone, off list, as it is rather long. The documentation also
includes
information pertaining to canes, & service dogs.

If anyone is interested send me an email at, mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
