Hi Nadia, two things come to mind. Firstly, make sure that your "modem to
use" setting in the Directory of Services entry is set to Hayes Compatible
on Infra-red. Secondly, make sure the infra-red port is turned on in the
Nokia. On some Nokia phones, there are two infra-red options, one is just
called infra-red, the other is called modem. It's the modem one that needs
to be enabled. Good luck.

Subject
[Braillenote] cell phones and the bn

Hi people

I try to use my cell phone, a nokia 6310, to download e-mail using the
infrared port, but I constantly get a message "know carier". Can someone
tell me if I have to load any software on the bn before using the infrared
port?

Thans for your help. I am very glad I subscribe to this list because I
learn so much every day.

Greetings
Nadia
