Hi, Everyone. I got my 6.1 yesterday and installed it. Got the wireless
configured and that is pretty neat. As before, sometimes, web pages seem to
get stuck while loading, but trying again usually fixes the problem.
However, I tried email this morning.
I was surprised that I had to enter my user ID, and password each time I
wanted to use email. The mane and address fields were already filled out,
but you have to enter user ID and password each time.
It took me three times to get my 138 messages. The first time, speech kept
up with the braille display, but we hung at 67 or somewhere around there.
I disconnected and tried again. This time, the braille display practically
flew with speech far behind. However, we still hung at 84. Pressing the
right most thumb key told me that 100 percent of the message had been
downloaded, but that email size was zero.
This time, I turned speech off and tried again. The third time was the
charm and all messages were downloded.
What a pleasure to look at email. Pressing control 8 on the qt pretty much
immediately sent the email to the trash. A couple messages stuck for 15
seconds or so, but then were gone.
I did get two messages that shows the no subject line and anonymous from
field. If one presses enter on these, there is nothing in them at all. They
are blank.
At least there was only two or three, but sad that they had no contents.
On exiting email back to the main menu, I was asked if I wanted to empty
the trash. Pressing y had we wait for only probably 15-20 seconds or less
and all was gone.
It seems that if you have speech on and it lags behind the braille display
that mail gets hung up. The no subject emails will be a problem because you
can't even open them and see what they are, at least not the ones I downloaded.
