Hello List, With the help of a friend of mine who is a computer tech, I finally got my BN to work on my network with all security features in place! I am so pleased!
I downloaded the 6.11 upgrade file some days ago. My friend took out all security from the network so I could get on it at that time. He showed me how to find my computer on the network and I went into file manager, found the unzipped 6.11 upgrade file on my PC on the network, I of course chose to copy from my PC to the storage card housing the 6.1 upgrade. It took roughly 8 minutes or so to bring that file to my BN which was going onto the upgrade flash card. I deleted the specified file which was specified by the online instructions. I then placed the flash card into the back slot, pressed dots four, five with reset and everything started immediately! When the 6.11 upgrade process stopped, my unit reset but didn't do much of anything! I again pressed the reset button and everything came to life as it should. I tried to log onto network but it wouldn't work. My friend suggested I start the configuration all over again since I just upgraded and did a reset. I deleted the old c onfiguration and scanned for the network itself. The BN connected and the IP address was correct! I went to the PDI site and I was right there the first time. I also got the Schwan's site with no difficulty! I was truly pleased! After my friend left and I had supper, I wrote a new EMAIL Account! It worked first thing! I was able to receive 14 email on the server with no difficulty! To answer Rhonda's question, I only had to write "jkaldrich" minus quotes in the user name. I didn't need to write out the full EMAIL address there. I can only say everything seems to be working nicely now! I'll keep you posted! I need only upgrade my wife's unit now! Thank you PDI!
