Beth, Leaving messages on the server is something you might want to do if you want to quickly check your email with the braillenote but leave the messages there so you could download them later with your pc for permanent storage or whatever. When you download email with the bn, you download whatever is there on the server. The only exception to this is if you've already downloaded messages and left them on the server and they're still there next time you download mail with the bn. If you keep your already downloaded messages in your trash folder, they won't be downloaded a second time when you do the download from your bn.
On the other hand, you don't want to leave messages on the server for too long as it could result in your mailbox getting full in which case mail to you might bounce back to the sender and never get properly delivered. So, unless you want to leave your messages on the server for later retrieval from your pc, it's probably best to remove them at the time you read them. I am assuming that, if you leave them on the server, you could just have the BN or VN download 10 or 20 at a time, if you want. Is this true? I do not yet have a unit. Thanks.
