Hi Mary-Ellen, this depends on the kind of cellular network you're using
and the way you choose to connect. For example, most GSM networks will let
you connect at 14.4 KBPS when you dial another modem. But using GPRS, the
high-speed system on modern GSM networks, the speed is more than double
that. GPRS is definitely a much better way to go because your cellular
carrier in effect becomes your ISP and gives you much faster access. CDMA
networks can go even faster still. I have seen over 80KBPS on some CDMA
networks.

Subject
[Braillenote] Question about speed on which bn and cell phones run:

I just received a call from a friend who is not a Braille Note user who
wantedto know at what speed the modem runs when using a cell phone with
the
Braille Note. I had to say I didn't know.
