Are you changing the setting of Computer Braille from 8- to 6-Dot in Keyboard
Settings or Braille Display Options? It sounds like you're being directed to do
so under Braille Display Options, but this will only affect how Computer
Braille is displayed on your Braille display and not the way in which you can
input it with the keyboard. Because you can produce the function of the ENTER
key by pressing ENTER with SPACE, I'm thinking the setting in Keyboard Settings
is still set to 8-Dot Computer Braille. To get to Keyboard Settings, you would
press SPACE with O to get into the Options Menu, then K to get into Keyboard
Settings, then SPACE until you see the item which reads, "Use 6 or 8 dot
Computer Braille?" (I believe it's about the fourth item down). If that's set
to 8-Dot, there's your problem, so you would type the letter F, which the BN
will interpret as a 6, hit ENTER to accept, and exit. Then, try using the
ENTER key again.

I don't think the keyboard would have damaged it, but if your Keyboard Settings
are in 6-Dot and the ENTER key is still not functioning, there may be some type
of hardware problem which could have been caused by the keyboard. I really
wasn't clear where you were changing the setting, though, so I hope this is of
some help.

HTH,
Maria
