I do this with JAWS all the time.  The only problem is that JAWS seems
to keep everything in a buffer because when you go back, the cursor
blinks very quickly for a while.

You said a person could not go from terminal mode to the BN using JAWS?
Well, you can do it if you use WindowEyes!  When you get out of terminal
mode, the BN becomes a notetaker again and you can take notes with it.
Pressing t for the terminal mode will make it a braille display again.
