the sample rates currently supported by the player are:
44100, 22050, 11025 and 8000 hz.

Any bitrate below 320 k should play but I've seen some files that don't.  I
suspect that this may depend on the encoder from customer feedback and
reports we've had so far, as well as our own internal testing.
