Hi Gayle:

You cannot back up simply the inbox to a storeage card. One of keymail's
current great problems is that the email folders can only be viewed on the
flash disk.

If you need to back up your email database (for, the "inbox" and other
folders are not real folders but rather part of a database), do the
following.

1. From the main menu, go to the utilities menu by pressing u, and press b
to backup or restore files. When prompted, press b again to backup a file.

2. Choose the flash drive, and the keymail folder. Specify the compactflash
or storage card drive, and either keep the suggested folder name (which,
nicely, is simply the date of the backup), or create your own.

It has been mine and other's experiences that backing up the entire folder
is less prone to truncated material then simply moving/copying the email
folders.cdb file from one place to another. Not only that, but you can
complete the procedure in fewer steps. HTH, Laura

Subject: [Braillenote] locating and backing up e-mail messages

Hello,
I need to temporarily move e-mail messages from the inbox to the storage
card. But I can't find the inbox folder under file manager. I've looked in
key mail, thinking that would be the most logical place to look for it, but
it's not there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Gayle
