Hi all,
Jonathan, sorry, perhaps it was ill-timed for the engineer to make his
announcement, but he said he had no idea that this upgrade was coming
and had not received any information about it. This, perhaps
mistakenly, lead many of us who are on the GPStalk list, and the PM
list as well as the BrailleNote list, to wonder what was going on. It
was extremely worrying to us as consumers.
I have placed an order for the new GPS with my counselor, and was
hoping to get it some time this summer. I also want to upgrade my
current BN to 6.1. However, if it will not work with the new GPS if I
upgrade, then I will not be using the new BN upgrade.
It would have been much better if the answer to our question was a
"yes, of course." I think we were somewhat puzzled because it appears
that the company with whom you are working was not in the loop until
just now. What if the software doesn't work with the GPS stuff?
Shouldn't Sendero have been working on GPS for 6.1 long since?
That is why my message sounded sharp. I'm sorry that this has
happened, but we are concerned that if we get the upgrade to the BN in
September, it will not work with the version 3 GPS that is out this
month. How long will it take to assure compatibility? Someone else
asked the same question. Are we going to have to wait to upgrade till
our BN's work with the new GPS, what?
Again, sorry for the confusion, but it's a major concern, at least for
me as a GPS user.
