Hi Stacey:

For the most part, having only 16 mb of memory will not impact your use of
the BN--you simply have fewer space in which to store things. You actually
hit on the biggest concern, which is keymail. Because you currently may only
keep the database on the flash disk, and because this database can grow to
be quite large, people with a 48 mb board are able to keep larger email
databases on board without the performance of keymail or the bn being
noticeably affected. Also, despite what PDI staff say, I have heard
repeatedly from users who upgraded memory that the opening and manipulating
of files is, if not faster, less problematic, meaning the large file issue
and truncation problem happens with less frequency. However, since these
reports conflict with those of PDI's,I guess the final choice is yours. lol.

All other things, such as downloading web braille books, can be done just
fine. HTH, Laura

Subject: [Braillenote] Memory upgrade

> Hi All,
> I do not have a voicenote qt yet, but I am wondering how many of you have
the memory upgrade? For those of you who do not, do you have any difficulty
with the e-mail or web browsing? I'll be getting a demonstration of the qt
next month, and I am looking forward to it.
