Hi. I think the maintenance agreements only go for one year. Also, I don't
think the SMA's work for hardware. I think they are just for software.
I don't know that they have a hardware sma, but I could be wrong.

Hi,
How long do the maintainance agreements last for the braillenote? I got
mine in july or august of 2002. A sma was baught for me a couple months
ago giving me two more keysoft or hardware upgrades whichever comes first.
It's too bad my artic notetaker doesn't come with a modem, and is able to
run nettamer, which it cannot. nettamer is a dos based web browser that is
supposed to work using regular dial-up and not a shell account. Maybe I
could somehow convince my bvs counselor to get me a voicenote back-up? No.
that wouldn't happen. he'd say "you already have a braillenote--qt32, and
you baught yourself an artic notetaker for $30.00. Why do you need a
voicenote qt?" And I don't think "for email," is a good enough answer.
I'm gunna miss the internet! even if it is only internet explorer4!
The braillenote can do a lot more and is easier to use than the artic is.
The artic qt notetaker has four function keys and the arrow keys are
accessed by holding down the shift cursor key and it's just kind of weird,
something I'm not quite used to. The artic doesn't even have a grade two
translator or good braille support, but, it's better than nothing till I
get my braillenote back. Ok it's almost midnight and I'm getting tired
because I'm just rambling on here about stuff that I should take offlist
probably so I'll check back tomorrow.
