Well, my KeySoft 6.1 upgrade package arrived Friday and with one slight
exception, the installation went as described in the instructions that
came with it.
The exception was that when I downloaded my product key from the Pulse
Data site, it did not show my unit serial number in the file name, as was
stated in the instructions. Before going ahead with the install of the
product key, I called tech support and was told the serial should have
been there. He suggested I try downloading it again but got the same
results so he said to go ahead and install anyway. I did and all went
well with the entire process. It took something close to forty five
minutes and my Voice Note has been working great ever since. I am able to
get onto web sites that just refused to work with it before. If for this
reason alone, this upgrade is worth the price. I'll be doing some more
exploring into features and changes but for now most looks great.
I did notice two small items that I will mention here.
1. When I go into the index to the user manual and jump to the items
starting with the letter "V", I see a file called "version 6.0 Braille Note
PK" listed instead of "version 6.1 or 6.11 Voice Note" there. When I go
into that file, it does say "Voice Note BT 6.1" so believe I actually have
the correct user manual but just the version file is mislabeled.
2. The other problem is that while on the internet, when I go into the
internet file management menu and try to delete temp files, I get an error
tone and a message that the directory is not empty. Unfortunately, it
doesn't say what directory or what drive space isn't empty. I tried
roaming around in the KeySoft system disc and the flash disc looking into
windows and temp directories, whereever I could find them but none seemed
to have files in them. I did do the space with X command to show all
files, including hidden files with no luck. I don't remember ever running
into this problem in the past. Can anyone point me in the right direction
to clear this one up?
Thanks
Richard Ehrler
