Hi listers, As I mentioned once before, I recently started working with a Voice Note and have been making steady progress in learning how to use it. Basically, I am learning through reading and using the onboard manual as my guide. A couple of weeks ago when I was having trouble getting it online to download the 5.1 update, Dean was most kind and very patient in helping me out with the download and installation. And, everything was going well until this morning.
I turned on the VN, checked my planner for today and then went to read about setting up data bases. At some point, I hit the enter key instead of the backspace and all of a sudden lost all speech. Nothing I did would bring it back. I tried exiting the manual, exiting to the main menu, turning the unit on and off, and nothing. Then I hit the reset button and still no voice. So then I did a reset holding down keys 1 2 3, heard that pretty little chime, got the speech back, but now seemed to have lost my update and whatever was in my planner. I'm not worried about the info I lost in the planner, however, I am concerned about reinstalling my update and finding out why I all of a sudden lost speech and what to do if and when this might happen again. So, can any of you technology wizzards and experienced BN, VN users give me some step by step instructions? Or, do you think I should take this up with tech support? I was a Blazie notetaker user for 16 years and was used to dealing with and fixing their quirks, but just made the switch to PDI and I'm not quite comfortable with the BN yet. Thanks, Carmen
