Hi Peggy and all, You do not have to do anything for a printer with infrared, just make sure you select that on the bn and also be sure that the ir ports of the two units are directly in line. That's the one thing you have to be careful about with ir.
As for the phone, you do need to activate the ir port on the phone as they usually are off by default to conserve battery power. Also, if you don't make a connection in a certain amount of time, the ir port on the phone will most likely deactivate itself, again to conserve power. On nokia phones, you actually need to turn on the option for modem via infrared, not just the infrared. This can be a bit confusing at first.
