Hello List,

Never place an object or stylus into a braille display! You could easily cause more damage by doing so. I have often used denatured alcohol to clean a braille display with cue tips or cotton swabs. once I cleaned them, I would perform some kind of exercise on them and the display would work just fine! PDI usually doesn't recommend a user to clean the display so you may need to send it in, I really don't know! Don't go poking with stylus or any other sharp object because you could greatly damage the display!

Hi,

That dot still isn't coming up. Cell 21 dot five. Should I turn off the braillenote, and put a braille stylus into the hole to coax the dot up? or wouldn't that help? And, how long would this process sending the braillenote back take me? how many weeks would I have to wait to get it back? Also, can someone tell me how to back up the addressbook in my braillenote to a storeage card? I really think it's going to have to be sent back this time. That dot's not coming up. I'll run the exercise again to be sure... nope. I just ran the braille display exercise. it's not coming up at all. I am so happy my artic wil be here today or tomorrow! I think I'll be desperately needing it. I need to have some sort of notetaker! preferably the braillenote, but the artic will due until I get it back. I'll have to go into my addresses file and copy down phone numbers and stuff by hand though into the artic since I don't have cables to do a direct transfer.
