Lisa,
Unpredictable results, is to be expected when your database is corrupted.  With 
enough time and energy, you could likely  get the answer as to why e-mail on 
the server was not available, when you finally fixed your database.  My 
educated guess is that your e-mail successfully downloaded from Earthlink to 
your Braillenote's corrupted database and then was not available to you.  But 
unless you are having frequent corruption of your database, it is probably best 
to concintrate your energies on other things.

And yes, loosing e-mail or files or databases has to be one of the most 
frustrating things.
