sylvia, Exactly how you use the braillenote as a braille display will depend somewhat on what screen reader you are using.
You need the serial cable which came with the braillenote for starters. Next you need to locate the terminal option on the main menu and hit enter when it says "braille terminal". If you are using windoweyes, you open the windoweyes control pannel, bring up the files menu, go to select braille display, hit enter and select the braillenote from the list of displays. Tab once to get to the listing of com ports and make sure the correct one is chosen. Hit okay and you should start seeing braille on the display of the braillenote. If you are using jfw and haven't already added the braillenote to your list of braile displays you will need to do this. In any case, make sure the braillenote is turned on, connected, and in braille terminal mode prior to starting your screen reader. If you don't, the drivers of the screen reader will not load properly and you will have to restart the screen reader. Also, if you also have activesync on your laptop or anything else which might access your serial port, you need to be sure that it is disabled before you start. Hopefully you can apply these suggestions to your particular situation. Don On Wed, 30 Mar 2005 15:44:31 -0800, Sylvia Munoz wrote: Hello All, I am hoping that someone can share their wisdom with me. I have not used the Braille Note as a Braille display for a laptop, but am interested in doing so. What is the process that I should take to do this?
