Hi, Bob. I also don't care about instant messaging or even browsing the
web, but there are people who do. I don't even use half of the features of
the word processor, but I will bet there are those on this list who do.
It isn't an important concern of mine as to whether the bn will have any
more bells and whistles or not. But if and when it does, and I decide to
take advantage of them, they will be there.
I don't know if I'd ever use a record feature, but wouldn't it be nice if
it was there if I decided to?
Perhaps, once we get wireless, my interest in web browsing or e-mail will
change and wouldn't it be nice if those functions were robust like my pc?
or should we just keep everything simple right down to a four function
calculator and a basic word processor?
I don't use the scientific calculator either, but I would have given my
right arm for a good business calculator when I was in graduate school and
had to rely on a sighted person who had no idea how to use a
business calculator.
I really think the more we can reasonably get, assuming it is properly
designed and tested, the better we will be.

This is a very strange dread. You know, the more stuff you try to cram
into something, the less quality you seem to have. I have a tape
recorder; in fact, I have two. The BN is my primary computer, and I want
it to do computer things, such as reading email, surfing the net,
downloading documents, having a good word processor, Etc. I really don't
care about playing MP3's, or recording stuff, or instant messaging, or any
of that stuff. I'm not reation sure how this got started, but, frankly, I
can do without every conceiveable bell and whistle. Hope you all have a
happy new year. Bob and Maxy-wax
