Hi, List! Paul, check with the Canon Technical Support to see what they say. I have one of these printers, but I never have had this problem. I've got the BJC-85 for two years come December, and the only thing I don't like about it is the length oof time for the black cartridge to last. Otherwise, it's a great little printer. Try the Tech Support for that brand, though, and maybe they can make suggestions on what to do. Also, see if there is a troubleshooting list with your printer and see if there is that particular problem listed and what to do if it comes up. I thought my husband had read one of those lists to me when I purchased my printer.
