Hi Beth, Yes, there is a way to lock the braillenot into computer braille, and then switch it back to grade 2 braille. The dot 4 is simply useful for a character or two, so that the user doesn't have to do excess typing by switching to computer braille, typing a word, and switching back too grade 2 braille.
