Hello Shelley,

In terms of Wifi access, the BrailleNote is no more or no less secure than any other Wifi enabled device. However, you can be sure that it is a more secure method than accessing, say, a public computer as you just don't know what the previous user has installed to log your keystrokes etc as was the case in a recent incident here in New Zealand. It is up to the network administrator as far as network security goes

Subject: [Braillenote] Security on wireless networks

I was reading an article provided by the Internet Tour Bus, about the
security or lack there of, in public wireless networks, and that with the
right amount of software, someone could steal all sorts of things off your
PC. Is the braillenote susceptible to these kinds of software, or because
it is a "specialized" format is this not a problem we have to worry about,
as the software doesn't work with the Keysoft program, as I suspect they
probably don't know about it.

If that is the case, I can see a definite advantage over the Pac Mate.

The vision must be followed by the venture. It is not enough to
stare up the steps - we must step up the stairs.
