Hi, again. As I'm watching the "wonderful" news, I'd like to make a few
statements. This seems to be Braillenote on the town for me tonight, grin.
Anyway, I neglected to publicly thank Karen Falsom, Doug Martin, and Tom Lange
for helping me with my various issues when I used Bookshare with my Bt 18. I'm
sure there were others who gave me some pointers, too.
Kim, if you can afford it, I'd like to encourage you to sign up for Bookshare.
In my humble opinion, if we start telling you how to do all this, it might be
overwhrming unless you can immediately apply it. Don't worry, you'll get lots
of help. Yes, there are severl way to find books. Yes, the boos must be
unpacked, but there's an unpack utility already on the Braille Note. Booshare
also has an excellent online support system. You can even call them, though I
tho they prefer people to ask them questions online. You can also sign up over
the phone if you don't wish to sign up online.
There's another source to order memory cards, etc. It's zipzoomflycom. They
have a 4 gigabyte flash card for disblebbggen U.S. dollars. There's an 8 gig
card on memorysupplierscom, but that's over $900. I'm going to wait awhile for
that, grin.
Pulse Data staff, would you tffy to sut a feature on the calendar whereby when
you turn it on, it'll say you have an appointment? It'd be an optional feature
that you can toggle on or off, reminding you when you turn on the unit that you
have an appointment for that day. It'd be another option, in lieu of the
alarms. The Br Lite has that option, and I really find it useful.
I'm happy you're working on the fixes for the new update, and I'm sure you've
learned that you probably need more beta testers to analyze different
situations. If one has paid for the flash card option, why can't one have the
choice of a patch or a flash card even with 6.11? How hard would it be to put
the fixes on a flash card? I don't understand that one. If I want to request
6.11 instead of 6.1, can I do that with customer service, since I haven't
received mine yet? I'm asking on behalf of everyone, for that matter. Thanks.
Well, thanks for reading. I'm sure I'll think of something else later, grin.
Nancy
