I use both eloquence and the vn's keynote gold speech daily and find
eloquence clearer if one has to spell something in particular, but
provided that one does not use the default settings for the bn's voice,
keynote speech is less tiring and has better intonation when one wants
to read for relaxation. However, eloquence's faster settings are easier
to follow if one has to read a document quickly due to time pressure.

Hello Listers, The difficulty of making judgements as to the quality and
decipherability of synthetic speech, is that we all get to understand
our own kids. My only experience of "eloquence", is from a
demonstration of a Pacmate I attended a few weeks ago. I left,
definitely preferring Keynote Gold, but then, I know very well, that if
I used "Eloquence" for a short while, I'm sure I'd get used to it. I
still, on occasions, listen to books on my faithful old Eureka, though I
know most people can't stand its monotonous pronouncements. Don Cooper.
