Hi, all. I got my 6.1 upgrade yesterday and installed it, and everything
seems to be working okay, except for connecting to the net, either to get
email or browse the web.
All my connections seem to be the same as what they were before the
upgrade, so I can't figure out what I'm missing. I have an Earthlink
account, with several email addresses. I thought I'd test the BrailleNote
with one of the email addresses, so I went to Keymail, then to connect to
send and receive email. It asked "connect to which configuration?" The
nickname for the email address in question is Peggy, so I hit that. Then
it says "use which email account?". That's kind of confusing to me, as I
don't know whether to hit Peggy again, or Earthlink, or whether I should
have chosen Earthlink for the configuration and Peggy for the email account
or what. I've tried switching them around, using both Earthlink, using
both Peggy, and I get the same result. It says "your name?" and I have my
name in there, so I hit enter. It asks for my email address, so I leave it
the default [EMAIL PROTECTED] Then I hit enter. It goes on its merry
way dialing, and connects and everything, then I get error connecting to
pop server: 10022. I've reviewed the settings in the directory of
services, and everything looks right. I decided to try to connect to the
web with just my regular Earthlink account. It connected alright, then I
got weird errors and it said page not found. I tried a couple different
pages. I wouldn't be so worried, except I'm leaving for vacation on
Sunday, and my BrailleNote is the only way I have to connect to the
net. Can someone with 6.1 experience tell me how to fix this, or what I'm
doing wrong?
