The number of cells should be an easy one. If the person doesn't feel like counting all those cells, the 18-cell model has quite a bit of space on either side of the display, while the 32-cell model has almost no space between the ends of the display and the edges of the unit. This may seem way too obvious to some, but sometimes you just never know.

Thanks, Sarah. Now I've got the info I need. I am trying to find out how many cells it is now. the person doesn't know much about braillenote and that's what they have! Amazing but when you're deaf-blind, people don't always tell you the obvious. thanks again.
