Hello Brenda:
Can I say it real loud?? I! DO! NOT! WANT! TO! SEE! YOU! GO!! You have
been an ASSET TO MANY OF US, I am included.
Whatever transpired HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU; incidentally, I read a joke
on what Microsoft felt GM should have done with technology. According to
Microsoft, cars would now cost $25 if GM had kept up with technology, and we
will all be driving; GM responded by stating that, if Microsoft was to be
believed, one would have to PUT UP with many restarts, lock-ups, and
constant changing of cars as new models hit the block, <smile>!!
Software--particularly those developed for use by the blind--gets heaped up
so much so that you and me WANT IT RIGHT AWAY! It's our way of KEEPING PACE
WITH TECHNOLOGY and being able to do what was impossible before. Example,
wireless connectivity was NOT POSSIBLE with 5.0, but now possible with 6.1!
I personally HAVE NOT UPGRADED OR CHOSEN TO currently until the database and
E-Mail bugs are worked out some more. You wonder if these bugs would have
been spotted if Pulsedata (sorry, HumanWare--I've got to wake up, sheesh!!)
allow for PUBLIC BETA-TESTING like GW Micro does with Window-Eyes.
I will eventually upgrade because I foresee a period in which SUPPORT FOR
5.1 WILL CEASE. And of course, by upgrading I will help PAY THE BILLS,
<GRIN>!!
Seriously though, it is KIND OF STUPID that the DISPLAY MESSAGE disappeared
with Version 5.1, but was there with 5.0. All the time, whenever an ACCESS
TECHNOLOGY is supposedly improved, the developers ALWAYS BREAK something
that was working previously. Guess they take cues from Microsoft??
Sincerely,
Olusegun
