Lisa, You might try setting up a second Directory Of Services Record that logs on to your Mom's ISP, and uses your Earthlink e-mail password and Earthlink server settings. If this works, you could both send and receive on the same phone call. If it doesn't work. Just erase the record and use the record that you are currently using.
Try setting up a record in your Directory Of Services this way: Service name: [Your Mom's Service Name] Modem: [The modem you are currently using] Phone number: [Your mom's ISP phone number] Service user name: [your mom's service user name] Service Password: [your mom's service password] Email password: [your Earthlink e-mail password] Pop server: [Your Earthlink pop server] Smtp server: [your Earthlink SMTP server] It is an experiment, but if it works, you will have an easier time of it. I have some tips if anyone ever tries to check email from an ISP that is different than there email provider. 1. My mother's SMPT server requires authentication. To get this accomplished I have to type in her email password and user name in the email user name and email password fields of the directory of services when I want to send emails. 2. When I check emails I have to change the email password and email username to my Earthlink settings. 3. I cannot send email after checking it because of having to change the settings before sending. The only way I can send emails for the next couple of weeks is to write emails and then send them before checking emails. 4. The phone number has to be entered in literary Braille not computer Braille. I thought it was computer Braille since pretty much everything else in the directory of services is entered in computer Braille. Just some tips and just wanted to let everyone know it works. It wouldn't have worked if I had not received assistance from PDI's tech support. Have a great weekend.
