Dianne, pressing enter does not work if the unit hangs for a different
reason than pure sluggishness, but pressing enter always tells progress
status, except when the bn/vn has totally frozen.

I agree that it is the first step one should take when experiencing
difficulty. I also have a vn, but from the list my impression is that
the voice notes are less sluggish than the braillenotes, not necessarily
with downloading, but with message handling definitely. My trash folder
messages for instance, are usually deleted in less than ten seconds and
I've never waited for longer than that for a message to move to a
different folder, except when I have marked a whole folder's messages,
more than twenty, to be moved to trash.

Riana

Subject: [Braillenote] GENTLY NUDGING DOWNLOADS

Good morning again, list,

I accidentally discovered that if the ENTER key is pressed once when the
VN hangs while downloading, the unit moves to thenext message after
speaking current status info. I assume this will also work with the BN.
This gentle nudge just seems to give the machine a gentle kick in the
process.
