Hi,

Do you have a card in either the pcmcia slot or the compact-flash card slot on
the back of the bn? If so, this might be your problem. PDI recommends that
you remove cards from either slot before you turn on the unit.

If you do not have a card in either slot you probably should contact technical
support.

Dear List,
Occasionally, my unit will turn on with a rather low fourth-octave tone and
reset itself. Why is this? I started out this unit not using it much, so
it just sat around depleting its battery and being re-charged when
necessary. Now I am in a position to try really to learn the unit and use
it.
Today when the power level said 21 percent, it did this re-set thing of its
own. It's kind of a pain since I have to reset the clock and such.
Well, just shortly after that reset it did on itself, I did get a low
battery message. I powered the unit off but couldn't connect it for a few
hours. it's charging now.
Comments appreciated. Do I have to do this battery thing that Evelyn
mentioned? I read about it but was a little uncertain as to what is
required of me. Is there any reason why the machine just decides to reset
itself?
Sometimes I fall asleep listening to something and the machine goes into
that sleep-mode or less battery use-mode, you might say. I also have a
problem. I'm so used to the millennium 20 having the on switch go into the
on position by being toggled away from me. This is exactly opposite. I'm
going to have to install an on or an off braille label to help me keep it
straight.

I won't tell you old users of braille lite equipment how many times I've hit
the B-chord to erase a letter. I read that there is a way to change this so
that the command will work as it does in the old millennium and braille
lite equipment. However, I've resisted the idea of changing the command
over. sorry to have covered so much in one letter. The real subject is the
way my particular unit likes to re-set itself at odd moments. I think it
may be when the battery is low, but do not know it for sure.
