I think having an SDK would be the best solution to having a variety of programs for the BN family of products.

Unfortunately, the market is probably too small to support that many different models. We just don't have enough blind people! (Grin)

Subject: [Braillenote] PDI Might Offer A Line Of BN/VN Models

Dear Listers and PDI,
PDI might consider offering a line of Braillenote and Voicenote models to
meet a variety of needs. The line of models would include the current
model. But another model, possibly called the Braillenote Detachable might
be offered for those customers seeking a detachable Braille Display. Yet
another model, maybe called the Braillenote Professional might be offered to
working professionals. This model might include Keynote Professional with a
robust suite of business applications, security options, and the latest
browser capable of handling secure web sites. Even a Build Your Own
Braillenote option might be offered, where each customer could mix and match
the features important to that customer.

This line of models approach would end the one size fits all syndrome. Where
an endless debate over the best kind of Braillenote/Voicenote occurs.

No one model will ever satisfy everyone on this list an in the wider
customer base. Offering a number of models to different segments of the
Braillenote market might satisfy more customers, and might even increase
sales.

Sincerely,
Jerry Weinger
