Hi,
You will find the detailed explanatiion of why and how in the second
chapter of themanual, whjich is onboard your unit. It has to do with
gradually shortening battery life over the expected 18 month or so life of
the battery. It is recommended to do every two months or so. Otherwise, you
will begin to get low battery warnings long before they are necessary.
