Lisa; WHAT I do is leave the name the way it is. You are asked if you want to rename the book with the question "Name of bookshare book? Press enter for (blank)", where blank is the name the book is listed under. Since this happens before you actually unpack the book, if you don't do it exactly right, you'll probably lose the book. You must also keep the Bks extension I would think until you have it all downloaded and unpacked. I don't know about afterward, because, as I said, I usually just leave the name as is. It already comes with a name, unlike the Nls books, and the name usually gives you a good idea of the title and besides, you will have the full title or near enough once you unpack the book. The sequence is, download first, then unpack and try having some fun with it then. I would recommend that you keep the original zipped copy if you are going to try and rename the book, so that, if it doesn't work out, you can erase the unpacked book and just re unpack the original again.
