Hi Julie,
You can upgrade your BN to 6.1.1 and have wireless capability. If you
emboss or print documents, you will need a BN unless you do so with a
PC. One cannot print or emboss with a PK. I agree, it is a sweet
unit! I'd like to get one as well but I'd keep my BN 32.

Hi there list!
i just resubscribed afew says ago. I had almost forgotten how much
action this group produces!! its good and informative though! (grin)
here's my little story: I'm a BN 18 user at the moment. i have done a
lot of research on the PK and am quickly finding that most of its
capabilities for wireless and bluestooth would open up SO many more
possibilities for a crazy college student. with its smaller size,
weight and keyboard, i think someone with smaller hands would have an
eisier time using the braille keyboard. I have a wireless network at
home which im always connected to on my laptop. My college campus is
also one giant networking hotsport and i would love to take advantage
of this as well with the braille note. the addition of this capability
on the BN PK would be my dream come true.THis sounds absolutely
ridiculous but the advances that have surfaced on the pk would mean
untold advances in my productivity in school, I'm working hard to
gather info to help justify the purchase of a PK when i recieved my
bn18 only....over a year ago...!
I im wondering what i could do *if* the organization were to approve
such a tall order, what would i do with a very well loved, in great
condition bn 18 unit? i would hope that there is some sort of
refurbishing program that takes the units from those who upgraded to
PK and spiffs them up and sells them to new loving homes at a
discount... that would be my idea... but i am not sure it is done this
way.
has anyone else had the same experience? purchasing a pk and finding
somewhere for the old unit to live? does humanware recieve used units?
i also thought that my old school district's VI program might welcome
that addition, but im not sure of my options. anyone enlighten me?
sorry for the length. too many questions...
thanks all!
Julie and Angel
