Hi all.
Someone posted earlier to the list that if you were going to use E-messenger
with the BrailleNote you wouldn't get very far. Well, sometimes you will and
sometimes you won't.
Tonight I finally managed to talk to my brother-in-law using the web site:
http://mob.emessenger.net
I logged in using my passport account--username and password. Then once I
knew the page was loaded--it takes a couple of page refreshes (enter with r)--I
hit the spacebar to go through my links--if you do it any other way you'll see
one or two contacts only, and probably not the one you want. Anyhow, I then
used a cursor routing button to click on my brother-in-law's link. I was put
into a chat window. At this point I spaced down till it said "Show message
box" and I clicked on it. Then, once *that* was done, I hit space with dots
four and six and I was in the message edit area. I typed in my message in
Computer Braille, then hit space with four and six again and was at the send
button. I clicked on that.
Now--here's where it's crucial. I hit "reload", the first link on the page.
You have to do it that way; you can't use enter with r. Don't ask me why, I
just know that that's how I had to do it. Anyhow, once you hit reload, you can
scroll through the page and see your messages and any that the contact left for
you. The most recent is first. Kind of odd, because when you use Windows
Messenger with a screen reader, the messages go from oldest to most recent.
Anyhow, the conversation went on for quite a while, until I took too long
typing a message and got an internal server error. As of this writing, I
haven't gotten back in yet.
But for those who really want a way to chat with friends--albeit slow, and
you can't multi-task--then this is a site you want to look at and give a try.
I'll post the URL once more.

Does anyone know of any sites for Yahoo Messenger or AIM that will work with
the BrailleNote?
  Jane
PS Is there a way to erase the email address you are sending to when you go
into the OutBox to edit the email details because it wouldn't send? This had to
be copied and pasted from the original email because I couldn't get rid of the
misspelled address.
