Dean,

If memory serves, once you log in and use your password to do so, you can set
options and one of those options is to enable/disable the reminder feature.
If this is correct, you might consider sending out the reminders to everyone
one time and include the info for disabling/enabling reminderfs in that
message.

Then set reminders to off by default and let people turn them on if they want
them.

Of course, the best solution is to get people to save the welcome messages
which is a good idea anyway.

Trouble is that none of these solutions will work unless list participants do
their part in the job.

If they don't, the whole exercise is just a waste of time.

Hi Bob,

I know Don has already replied here. Yes, the passwords that Ann mentioned
are part of the mailman software. However, we have disabled these reminders
on most of our email lists. However, if there are enough people who would
like to see monthly reminders enabled, I'm quite happy to do that. There
would need to be a significant number of people who wanted these though, as
they are seen as a hassle by many.

subscribed to the list. Frankly, I never heard of such an animal on this
list. If everyone's getting a reminder of their password, and I don't even
have a password, that's an outrage!!! By golly, I'll picket, that's what
I'll do! (I'd have Maxy-wax hold up a sign, too, but he might eat it.)
