Have you tried a C3 C4 reset? Well, it worked for me most of the time. Yes, perhaps it did not work for me just once I think but most of the time a C3 C4 reset would do nicely.

Subject: Re: [Braillenote] Opening a Word Document on the PK

Hi Paul,

I had this same problem a week or so ago with my BN BT with Keysoft 6.1 upgrade. I am guessing the file in question may either be a Word Document converted from something else like an .SLX file, or the Word Document is using a newer copy of MSW than what the BN can work with. My problem occurred initially when I attached a word file to an Email and I sent this to myself. I couldn't read the attachment so this is also a concern. I don't have a definite answer as to why this happens. Convert that document on your PC to a .rtf file if you wish to preserve format. Place the new .rtf file into your PK and that should read.

Please let me know what you find out!

Folks,

I have a Word document which I've been trying to read on my PK and it just
won't play ball! The document opens fine on my desktop installation of Word 2K, but if I open it in the PK, I get some message about a Wordpad Converter
trying to read a Word 6 or 97 document and failing - it then gets into an
eternal loop and I have to perform a c3-c4 reset. It's odd because the doc
was produced in Word 2K as far as I know, and I've read very many Word docs
absolutely brilliantly in the PK, so I'm wondering what's wrong with this
particular one which causes it to fail? Was just wondering if anyone with a
PK and with Word would be willing to look and see why the document upsets
the PK - it sounds like it might be one that Dean might be willing to
explain what goes wrong with it if you're monitoring the list Dean?

Cheers.

Paul.
