Dear List, this water on the unit underscores the need for a cover for the Braille display. The Braille display is vulnerable to attack even on your desk or on a table, where cups or bottles can spill and deliver to you a large repair bill. I am going to experiment with a piece of vinyl cut to the width of the Braille display and cut to the height of the Braille display plut the cursor routing buttons. This vinyl strip will be affixed to my Braillenote directly behind the cursor routing buttons. I'll try something else if that doesn't work. Keep you posted.

It might not help but I don't think it would hurt to have a try. Good luck with it. regards Diane ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Gallagher" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "new list" <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, May 15, 2004 6:33 AM Subject: [Braillenote] my braille note is now a voice note Hi list Wonder if anyone has any advice for me. I have just arrived back from winning a chess tournament in Scarbrough where in one of my games my opponent accidentally knocked a glass of water all over the chess board and on my braille note. slowly the braille display went dead. I have tried everything to get it back. I let it charge down to nothing re-charged it then tried to excersise the display but no joy. I put the braille note near the hair dryer but now luck. I contacted pdi and if the plates have gone it's going to cost about £500 and if the main chip is dead it's about £1500. at least it talks. I do not think access to work will help hear but look forward to your replys. be carefull if you walk about and it rains it might be a very expensive walk. ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.pulsedata.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.pulsedata.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote
