Hi Paul,
As is standard with POP3 sessions, the email client will mark messages on
the server for deletion once that message has finished downloading. Once
all the messages have been downloaded, a command is issued so that the
server deletes all the marked messages so yes, depending on how the session
is disturbed, there is a likelyhood that you will find yourself starting
over next time you go to download your email.
I'll be contacting you off the list regarding other email issues discussed
last week.
Regards,
Dean Jackson

Hi, Donna. Thanks for that info. My idea is that if you hang while
downloading email, you should just be able to connect and start again if
the messages are deleted from the server as they are downloaded. If they
are deleted at the end, then, of course, you would start all over again
and would possibly hang again.
You are right. They do come in pretty fast if you start again.
Thanks.

Hi Paul,
I think I can answer your question about when email is deleted from the
server, at least in the version of KS that I'm using, which is 4.2.
The mail deletes as its downloading however, when you start the receive
process again, it will tell you the number of messages to download. This
will include the messages that you have already downloaded, but its just
the number, not the actual messages again. You might notice that the
first few messages will come in pretty fast, as this is just the numbers
of the messages that you had downloaded previously. Now, I don't have my
messages left on the server, so I'm not sure what would happen in this
case.. Just hoping to help a bit.
Donna
